When
9/8/2020

Parents/Guardians,

L. Hollingworth appreciates your patience and understanding as we transition through this time. We know families need time to plan for this schedule adjustment, so we wanted to share this important update with you as soon as possible.

The Leadership Team has listened and received valuable input from our families, staff, students and all stakeholders regarding the safety, security and well being of everyone as it relates to the current status of COVID-19 in Lucas County.

On Thursday, August 6th, the Lucas County Board of Health recommended that schools in Lucas County begin the school year remotely. As a result of this announcement and overwhelming amounts of families enrolling their students as “Remote Learners,” L. Hollingworth School will begin the 2020-2021 school year fully remote for the first quarter.

After the first quarter, in collaboration with state and local health officials, we will adapt and change this status as necessary.
Therefore, our start date will also be pushed back to Tuesday, September 8th. Please make sure your contact information is up to date with the main office as soon as possible. We ask that you take the time to thoroughly read all updates we send out through our website, social media, and Remind 101, etc.

Very soon, we will be communicating specific details including:

● Academic Expectations
● Support Services, including Special Education
● Student Orientation
● Breakfast and Lunch Meal Distribution
● Chromebook/Hotspot Support

We recognize that this is a challenging time for all, but we will get through this together. We remain committed to your student’s success.

Sincerely,

Mr. Franklin Head of School
