Re-introducing Mrs. Claes

Hello L. Hollingworth Community! It is great to be addressing all of you as the new Dean of Student Success. For the last four years, I have greatly enjoyed being the 7th and 8th Social Studies Teacher. I am very excited for this new position in this fantastic school! Please know that my role is to cultivate a positive learning environment for all students in the school. Updates for the Last Few Days

Hey everyone! We have a few updates for the next few days. 
5-19-21 (Wednesday): We will not have in building small group. The kiddos will still have work to do in all of their classes with pre-recorded videos. 
5-20-21/5-21-21 (Thursday and Friday): We will not have live online classes. The teachers will have pre-recorded videos letting the students know what they should be doing. We will have live office hours using Mr. Nichols' link from 12:00-2:00pm. All 4 teachers will be there to help with any work. 
5-24-21 (Monday): This will be a normal day in building :) 
5-25-21 (Tuesday): This will be a normal day in building:) We will be conducting school technology turn in on this day. Students need to bring all of the technology provided by L. Hollingworth back to the school. Remote kiddos are urged to bring in their technology to the office between 12:40-3:00pm. 
5-26-21 (Wednesday): 8th graduation car parade will be from 1:00-2:00pm. Any remote learners that have not turned in school technology needs to do so between 8:00-3:00pm.

AIR (state) Testing Reminder

Hello all!
I hope you have been enjoying your long weekend:) School resumes tomorrow and we begin AIR (state) testing!

Hybrid kiddos: These students will be testing in person during their days in school. They will operate on an altered schedule on these days to also have class with their teachers. It is extremely important that the students be at school on these days. The testing dates are:
ELA: April 6 and 12
Math: April 13 and 19
Science (8th only): April 20 and 26

Remote (online) kiddos: These students will be testing by appointment with Ms. Lay. The teachers have received this schedule. We are aware of when these students are testing. It is extremely important that the students be at the school for their testing appointments. Please note that the students should still check in with their teachers on testing days.

ALL students will use the schedule linked below April 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, and 26. If your kiddo is remote and is not testing in the morning, we encourage them to get ahead in their classes where possible.

AIR Testing Schedule

Hello all! Testing season is upon us! State testing will begin April 6, 2021 at L. Hollingworth. Hybrid kiddos will be tested during school time while remote kiddos will be tested by appointment with Ms. Lay.
While we are testing, ALL the students will follow an altered schedule. I have attached this schedule through the link below. Please let us know if you have any questions:)

Spring Break!

Happy Spring Break kiddos! Take this time to relax and get ready for the last few weeks of the school year:) If you have anything missing, please be sure you are getting your work done so you do not begin Quarter 4 behind. Have a great break and we will see you March 22!

Short Break:)

Happy 4 day weekend everyone! I hope you enjoy this short break from school. We will resume classes on Tuesday:) Please keep in mind that the quarter is coming quickly to an end. If you have any questions for your teachers about your grades, we encourage you to ask!
Re-enrollment: We sent enrollment forms home with the 7th graders on Tuesday. Please be sure to get those turned in for the 2021-2022 school year:)

Due to the cold temperatures, LHS will be REMOTE tomorrow, Monday, February 8th.

Address Changes

Attention all guardians:
The Office has asked us to reach out to you about address changes. If your family has moved during this school year, please update this information with Ms. Julie. The school will need new proof of residency with your address on it brought to the school. You would be able to do this next Monday-Wednesday (1-11 through 1-13) from 8:00am-2:00pm. Class Attendance

Reminder: While we are remote, students are expected to come to live online classes everyday of the school week. These classes are held from 8:00am-2:30pm. There is an office hour from 2:30-3:30 for students to receive any assistance needed on assignments. If your student is unable to log into the live online class, each teacher provides a lesson video for him/her to watch. All students are expected to complete their assignments everyday.
