I hope that you had an amazing spring break and that you are all ready for another round of digital learning so first off I just want to say thank you to those who did the primary source project you were awesome it was so great to hear from all of you and it was so great to get a glimpse into what you've been up to these last 3 weeks and how you're really feeling with this whole covid-19 situation so thank you to those who died you are rockstars it was so awesome to see what's been going on in your life those who haven't done it yet big deal it is still open on Google classroom and I would love to see what you have to say check and see what's going on so if you do feel that out I will read it and I will respond to you as quickly as I can so just a real quick shout out awesome job so this week well of course we are going down our road towards the Civil War so before the primary source document project and spring break you guys were starting to really die in to the tensions so when it came to the Compromise of 1850 and the Fugitive Slave Act and The Bleeding Kansas and the Kansas-Nebraska Act that comes out the Compromise of 1850 all of these that are really Rising the senator Sumner beating what what is that in our government they are actively physically assaulting people that's craziness that's breaking out in this is all to do with this is it right to hold slaves and if it's not right is it right to tell US state that they can or cannot admit slavery they're okay are you starting to see how this is all starting to go together we have all of this and we are going to see a couple president step onto the scene that are having to take care of this and trying to keep everything together and the states are going to threaten to leave and a so-called secession the states I really want you guys to pay attention this week as we're talking about secession and what that really means secession divided our country based on states rights and slavery it was cancel timer our history and also very scary so that is going to be part of your notes and also you'll be doing an activity about the Dred Scott Decision pretty much as you are reading I really want you to think about the fact that this decision said that you could take a slave into a free state and that slave would still be asleep now all the free states said there's no slavery here we don't want that here and that decision said you can take your slave wherever you want which really means slavery can go wherever you wanted to talk about tensions this is really upset people not just people who were slave but also people who are pollution is fighting for the freedom of slave so please keep this in mind while you were working this week as you can tell I get a little excited about this content so if you have any questions at all I am here I'm just your email away something else we are starting this week other than your Zoom meetings AA urine Thursday 8bu on Friday we are going to be doing office hours so that just means that you'll follow the Google Hangout link that I give you and your schedule and I will be there from 1:30 to 3 just hanging out on Google I'm hoping to see your beautiful faces with some question so if you don't want to shoot me an email I'm more than welcome to just pop on Google Hangouts and I have no idea what's going on please help me out I just look forward to hearing from you guys I hope you're all doing well be good choices and I hope to hear from you
