LHS Mask Mandate Extended

October 15th, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

To make safety our priority and take a proactive approach, as a district, we are going to maintain a temporary Mask requirement for all staff, students, and visitors for the next 30 days. In the past 30 days, we have seen a significant drop in quarantine numbers because of our mandate. By requiring all individuals to wear masks, we can reduce the need to quarantine, which disrupts student learning and negatively affects families' ability to work.

After the 30 days expires, we will assess our status and communicate the next steps. The mask mandate will be extended from October 18th, 2021 - November 26th, 2021.

Please know that this is not where we want to be. We understand that masks are a polarizing issue. For a moment, let's suspend the debate as to the efficacy of masks and focus our efforts on keeping our school open and keeping our students and employees in the classroom under the Lucas County

quarantine guidelines.

We will continue to keep all of our families informed of all COVID-19 related developments. As always, we sincerely appreciate everyone's support and cooperation as we work together to maintain a safe environment for our children.

Sincerely,

Josh Lindke

Health, Safety and Security Coordinator
