volume sphere big thank you to everyone who checked in with me during week one of our digital learning or getting ready to start week 2 so I will post that northwell I'm please keep up the great communication I had good conversations with a lot of students asking questions about assignments and also just checking in to let me know you're doing okay so thank you thank you thank you if you're not sure how to get to RT they just go to Alvin Lee worth schools website hover over the word classroom in a box will drop down it says teacher pages click on that and we'll see every teacher and our building and then find your middle school team you can have a lace up dates for assignments and just with what's going on and we're also trying to make sure we put it on Google classroom for you as well so we can too we got this keep asking Essence keep in contact okay and we are going to just going to keep developing this as we go all right thanks guys talk to you soon as I know it's been kind of confusing and difficult at times stay tuned and we're going to learn about the Renaissance to the middle schoolers are you ready to discover all of the scientific wonders of the Renaissance in join me guys  during a little bit of Light reading so now that you've heard from all your teachers I'm here to tell you what it is we are here to talk to you guys about today so we're going to be covering different aspects the Renaissance is a rebirth of learning and art right after that Middle Ages so as you guys hopefully remember the Middle Ages was a time of not a lot of learning the monks mainly had all the education and learning that was okay what you had is after the black and if you're saying these people really want to start taking charge of their own learning and their own understanding of the world around them so one of those people what we will be talking about today is William Shakespeare he was so interested in how people interact it and why they interacted the way that they did and he wanted to really make it known that what people are doing was completely normal that emotion was all right and he really is going to bring that to attention and he's going to be very much inspired by what's going on around him all the different artists all the different scientists for instance Galileo Galilei just going to expand what people are learning and thinking during this time so without further Ado I cannot wait to introduce you to your brilliant amazing of Middle School teachers who we all miss you very much so stay tuned architecture about earlier this year with Misses Place many buildings were square or rectangular columns in the front are your calling this example has quite a few of them nothing for the column in the cylinder wonders are still used today in modern architecture and they're found in many places in our everyday lives as well are some things around the house are shaped like a cylinder I'd like you to find two examples of these cylinders in your house I need you to take a picture of each of them to measure distance across the base the base is the circle end this way the entire distance across the circle or your base okay you're going to take that number and divide it by 2 so that you can find the radius radius circle to the outer edge of the radius and the height to complete your assignment today you only need two pieces of information to find the volume of a cylinder roller would be best if you don't happen to have one lying around there are apps that will help you measure there's also a calculator app if you don't have a calculator at these numbers once you the radius and height to watch this video and all of these pictures and slides are going to be on Google classroom for you if you go to digital learning opportunities under that category you'll find an assignment Saunders everything you need will be there your I'm going to turn in a slide that looks like this you're going to put your picture here the radius and the height that you wrote down and then what your volume and then you also have your second picture and you can turn it all back into me even awesome enjoy the rest of your week everyone knew about William Shakespeare Makerspace said he was pretty revolutionary is that as an author because we read his place in class created on stage and he often performed in his own Romeo and Juliet and many many more if you saw the book that mrs. place was holding that was all of his work I had ever written this week's rela you are going to be watching this video clip from Romeo and Juliet one of the older production it's a pretty simple scene only talked for about half of it this video you're going to answer some questions and look a little bit deeper into the only display how Shakespeare wrote in general once you watch the video you will complete these week 2 materials including a shark graphic organizer questions as a reminder you should still be read 30 minutes everyday if you can it's a great resource for you as well as any books you might have at home or the arc bookshelf link that I shared last week if you guys have any questions please let me know and let's keep learning about the Renaissance It is believed that Shakespeare was heavily influenced by the scientific advance overrun some of these advancements one of the major players was astronomy and the idea of are these advancements can the ideas of an inch space objects Adam enter the human body a science student I want you to take some time to go to my Red Wings and make your own telescope to explore the Stars on your own when you have built your telescope please take a picture of it and tell me how it works and what sport I would also like to have you include a brief discussion of what it would be like to be as small as an atom and be able to enter an explorer various places that you would never otherwise have an opportunity to investigate until next time this is mr.
