Welcome to 6th Grade Math and Science

Hello 6th Grade Parents and Guardians,

It is my pleasure to be your child’s math and science teacher this school year. I look forward to working with your child and I will do everything that I can to help your child have a successful school year. This year we are going to start school remotely on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:00. I would like to invite all students to log into Google Classroom and start with their check-in post. Daily schedule, learning expectations, all lessons, assignments and updates will be posted on Google Classroom on a daily basis. Please make sure that your child logs into Math and Science Google Classrooms daily and completes his/her work. If you have any questions, concerns, please email me at [email protected] or message on Class Dojo or call at: 419-705-3411.

Thank you,

Mrs. Walton

6th Grade Updates

Hello Students and Families,

This week we are enjoying our virtual camp. Since we were asked to stay home during our scheduled camp week this year, we are still going to camp, not by bus, but virtually. We will be working on various activities and participating in virtual tours and google meets. We have started our camp with visiting Mr.Lindke’s school website and doing his fitness challenge. Thank you Mr. Lindke! The daily camp activities are posted on google classroom each morning. Have fun 6th Grade! And don’t worry, you will go to camp next year!

Just to remind you, we have google meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00!

Stay well and healthy!

6th Grade Updates

Our weekly meetings are every Friday at 11:00 via google meet. The link is posted Friday mornings on google classroom. Thank you to those of you who participate every week. It’s great to see your faces and hear your voices!

In addition to our weekly meetings, I am available every Tuesday at 11:00 via google meet for any questions. If you need any explanation of what we are covering in math or science, it is the place to visit on Tuesday mornings. Last week we were drawing inequalities on a number line. You will find the link on google classroom with your daily assignments.

Stay safe and healthy,

Mrs. Walton

WEEK OF APRIL 6, 2020

Hello Students and Families,

Spring break starts tomorrow, April 6th to April 10th. There will be no daily check-in posts or new assignments. If you have completed all daily assignments, enjoy the time and then check back with google classroom on Monday, April 13th for new posts. If you have any work that still has not been turned in, please take this time and check all daily posts and submit all missing work. For those students who would like to use this time to work ahead, please log into Khan Academy and MobyMax and work on new assignments.

I will still be available via email, google classroom, or class dojo, so please contact me with questions or concerns.

Enjoy this time with your families and have a peaceful Easter!

Mrs. Walton

Hello to the Third Week of Online Learning!

First, I wish to commend you for the job well done so far. I am impressed with the work you are submitting and the responses/questions I am getting from you. Pretty soon we will become experts in this digital learning.

Also, thank you to those of you who signed up to BrainPop and joined our class. This way we can stay connected better and each of you can turn in your own work. If you still have not joined us, please follow the directions that are posted on google classroom. If you need help, email or message me on google classroom or class dojo.

You are doing a great job with the “daily check-in posts.” The answers will be posted weekly on the following Tuesday morning so please check in the announcement every Tuesday. To answer the very first post, these are bunnies and they are growing well and getting bigger every day. Pictures of them (including the mommy) and videos can be found on google classroom.

Additionally, for those of you who like schedules and more routine in your day, I have attached a schedule (below) that you are welcome to follow or you may use it as a template to create your own. Having a schedule, will help you organize your day better, accomplish your tasks, and you will not need to do school work at night when you should be sleeping.

I think that’s all for now! Stay in touch and email or message me with any questions you might have.

Stay well, stay healthy, and keep washing your hands,

Mrs. Walton

Good Morning Students

Hello 6th grade students,

You are doing an amazing job with your responses to the daily check- in posts. Thank you! I truly enjoy reading them and your comments. We are almost done with week two of digital learning and for today I have not posted a lot of new assignments. Just please make sure that you completed all the tasks for this week and you can always work ahead on MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Stay well and healthy!

Mrs. Walton

Welcome to the Second Week of Online Learning

I wanted to thank all of you who are participating in online learning and completing the activities on google classroom. Keep up the good work and make sure you always log into Khan Academy via your school email. Usernames and passwords for MobyMax have been posted on google classroom.
For this week, you will see daily assignments that  you need to turn in on google classroom. Each day we will start with a "check-in post" that will ask you to respond. So let's get started and happy online learning!
Before you go to google classroom, I wanted to share with you the picture that I took in my backyard last Saturday. Can you guess what they are? (Please, post your response on google classroom.) My dog found the nest under a tree.
Please email me or message on class dojo with questions, concerns or suggestions how to improve our online learning!
