I wanted to talk to you about the assignment that you will be working on this week in social studies this week they are taking a break from social studies content instead we are doing a project that talks about your place in history right now now all of you have lived through history especially a lot this year you have lived in history during the President Trump impeachment you have lived in history as the covid 19 first broke out in China and you are currently living in history during this school closure and Statewide mandate to stay in place for this covid-19 pandemic with that being said many times this year we have talked about primary and secondary sources of primary source is a source where the person was there they experienced it they live it was their experience in the situation a secondary source on the other hand is a source removed from the original happening so they heard from a primary Monroe about it they studied about a topic and then made a presentation about it I have been a secondary source for you here when we've talked about the Ancients all the way through to the Civil War in social studies depending on what grade you're in you are currently a primary source right now you are a living this pandemic of covid-19 you are doing the shelter in place that was me and needed by our governor you are not in school due to the school closure what's that and like what's that a mind I wanted to take a minute to have you really be aware what being a primary source is about so this week your job is to answer my question very simple just answer answer my question that I post you every single day answer honestly openly and know that I'm only looking for a minimum of six sentences to your answer so I'm not looking for America's Next Great novel I'm just looking for what is going on to answer that question. by the end of the week you will have written to me an answer to three different questions and in turn you off made three primary sources when you grow up you will talking to people you will be explaining to the Next Generation what does covid-19 breakout was like you and then at that point would be creating secondary sources but today and he's not 2 days I want you to create those primary sources so that you can remember what this was like how you felt what you saw what was really going on in the world around you so as always look forward to your questions be sure that you check out the Google Doc attached to this video so that way you can answer a couple of mine and I cannot wait to read what your primary sources look like at the end of this week everybody
