Ladies of Integrity

Welcome to Ladies of Integrity

Young Ladies Empowerment Group

Welcome to Ladies of Integrity here at L.Hollingworth School for the Talented and Gifted. We believe each lady will grow to recognize her full Potential, Gifts and Skills that lies within her. We are here to help each lady discover and develop Self Worth, Respect and Integrity. Ladies of Integrity will explore the areas that will help them develop Social Skills, Build Life-Long Friendships, and Gain Confidence. Each lady will have an opportunity to grow in the areas of Self-Discipline, Leadership and Character.

Our goal is for each lady at the end of this group to be able to say:

I am a lady with Integrity

I am a lady with Self Worth

I am a lady with a Great Education

I am a lady who is Empowered.

We will empower each lady through Character building while focusing on:

Respecting others

Friendship

Dealing with pressure

Handling emotions

Enhancing Self-esteem

I am a Lady with Integrity

During the month of March the ladies were given a daily journal. In this journal the ladies can write down certain situations they would like to reflect on. They can also use their journals to write down everything they would like to talk about during group discussions, quotes they find inspiring, and activities they would like to do.

Journal Entry:

Since we cannot meet and discuss things that are on the ladies minds, I would like for each lady to continue writing everything they are feeling during these weeks off, and to really self reflect. With everything that is going on, it can be a lot to take in all at once. I never want you ladies to feel alone, anxious, or scared. Without our normal routines we can feel lost, and start to self reflect in a negative way. I do not want that to happen with you ladies. I would like for you ladies to have a positive mindset, and to continue working on ways to improve yourself.

Embracing New Routines

Life is full of changes. Routines can provide us the sense of security that comes with knowing what will happen and when. You ladies have had the same school routines since August. Monday through Friday you know you are going to be at school. Your mind and body quickly adjust to your schedule after doing it so many times. With a new routine, even if it’s temporary it can be a positive thing. During the month of November you ladies were given mason jars. We called it the gratitude jars. You filled your jars with things/people you were thankful for.

Journal Entry:

Now, I want you to take a second to think back to some of the things you wrote down. In your journal I would like for you to write down some new things/people you are thankful for as of this moment. I believe since you ladies are away from your normal school routine. You will be surprised by the things/people you are thankful for now.

If you would like to add some more details, then explain why. Why are you thankful for what you wrote down now compared to in November. Do you think you took something for granted? Do you appreciate someone or something more now that you don’t have it? Think about how you can be more appreciative of others and school. Write down some negatives about school you were faced with on one side of the paper, then on the other side right down how you can turn it into a positive.
