Happy Earth Day!

April 22, 2020 Learning Plan

Today is Earth Day.  It's a day when we think about our planet and how we can do a better job taking care of it.  On Monday you had the chance to learn a song about reducing waste, reusing items, and recycling materials.  I challenge you to take steps toward being a better citizen of our plant.  You can make a difference in small ways each day.

Reading - Start your 60 minutes of silent reading with Diary of a Worm to see how this tiny creature has an important job for our Earth. Perhaps search in Reading IQ for other stories related to Earth or worms.
Aubree is in the lead of our contest on MobyMax!  Get busy in Reading and Language and earn your points!

Math - Yesterday in Zoom we reviewed how to use a bar graph.  Flocabulary Bar Graphs lesson is another great resource for you. Flocabulary class code is FY6X86.  I am so happy to see you working in MobyMax on Math and Fact Fluency.  You are growing your brain!  Yay!

Science - Enjoy Butterflies are Back on Scholastic News.  Practice the vocabulary, watch the video, read the issue and complete the back page and activities.  This is a great review of our monarch butterflies study from the beginning of our school year.

Arts and Crafts - Try one of these crafts and then take them outside and enjoy your Earth Day.  Butterfly Craft    Upcycled bird feeder craft Recycled material butterfly Worm Craft
