About Me

Welcome to 2nd Grade!  I am excited to be your teacher.  This is my second year here at L. Hollingworth School.  It is a great place to work and learn.  This is quite an unusual time in our world, but we can succeed by helping each other.  A little about myself:  I'm Mom to three; have a border collie named Champ; I enjoy the outdoors, camping, and kayak fishing; I like to sew, bake cookies, drink coffee, and eat ice cream.  I absolutely LOVE school and learning.  I'm a graduate of BGSU and Florida International University.  I am dual licensed to teach Elementary Education and Specific Learning Disabilities.  I look forward to working with families to help students learn and grow.

Math- MobyMax Math and Fact Fluency
 
Reading - MobyMax Reading Placement then any of the blue Reading tabs, also silent reading on your own. Your goal is 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. You may also listen to this story as read by the author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen The Circus Ship Draw your favorite part and write about what you liked.
 
Read and begin a science journal.  Any paper or notebook will work. 
1. Date and draw your observation.
2. Why do you think the incubator is made of styrofoam like a cooler?
3. What science tool will we use during incubation?
4. What does the red light on the lid tell me?
5. What temperature do you think the eggs will need?
 
PE- go outside and PLAY!

Virtual Museum link

Since we were not able to have our field trip to the Toledo Museum of Art, maybe you would enjoy a virtual tour of another museum. We had planned to take a tour titled Creatures Great and Small.  What great or small animals can you find in one of these museums?  Use your 5 senses to write a description of your favorite piece.  Draw or build a similar piece with a different animal. Enjoy!
